Atelier Playa Mujeres Anniversary Baecation
We did it! We went on our first kid-free vacation since having Skyy. I’m happy to say it exceeded expectations. You probably know that Mexico is one of my favorite places to vacation. We wanted to switch things up during this trip and stayed at Atelier Playa Mujeres.
The room
The resort was incredible! We stayed in an oceanfront jr. suite and it was amazing. The resort also offers a higher class of rooms called Inspira (the main difference with these rooms is you get dinner reservations, usage of a rooftop pool, and a few other perks) but the room layout is the exact same as non-inspira rooms. You really aren’t missing out on anything big if you choose not to get an Inspira room. You can check out a tour of our room by heading here.
The food
The food was absolutely incredible! I know food at all-inclusive resorts gets a bad rap, but we were blown away by the cuisine here. The only meal that was just ok was at the steakhouse but everything else we ate was incredible. Definitely order lasagna from the lunch menu at the italian restaurant. We went for lunch one day and then back for dinner.
Entertainment
There’s a nightclub at the resort, but there was no DJ during the week we visited. If you want a quiet, spa-like oasis, the resort is perfect but entertainment was minimal. There was a bonfire at the beach one night and live music but everything is lowkey. There were no shows in comparison to other resorts. After night 2, we found ourselves a bit bored with the lack of entertainment but at the end of the day we were there to relax so it wasn’t a dealbreaker.
Pool & Beach
We didn’t have to play the chair game to get chairs and I got a beach bed every morning. Beachside food service is also fast, definitely order the spring rolls!
Overall thoughts
I’d definitely come back to this resort for a chill getaway. Aside from the entertainment, the service, rooms, and food are top notch.
