My Acne Skincare Routine with Nubian Heritage
I have a love-hate relationship with my skin. Over the past few months, my hormones have been a little out of whack and I've been trying to find the right products that will help improve my acne prone skin. Although my dermatologist has prescribed medication for my acne in the past, I prefer to incorporate natural products into my skincare routine whenever possible.
I was so excited when the opportunity arose for me to try some products from Nubian Heritage. Inspired by ancient rituals passed through communal wisdom, they focus on culturally authentic ingredients, which are ethically sourced. Plus, all of their products are made with a high concentration of certified organic shea butter and natural fragrance extracts for lasting hydration.
African Black Soap Mud Mask
I was so excited to try this mask! I'm a huge fan of African black soap and this is the first time I've ever used it in a mask. This clarifying mask draws out dirt and congestion from pores while soothing and balancing the skin. I left my mask on for about 10 minutes and I was very impressed that it didn't leave my skin feeling overly dry.
African Black Soap- Bar Soap
You can never go wrong with a classic bar of African black soap. Many of my aunts use African black soap on a regular basis and told me from a young age that it should be a staple for me. Nubian Heritage's African Black Soap detoxifies and balances the skin, and is made from aloe vera, oats, and Vitamin E. It smells absolutely amazing and I use it on my face before applying the mask.
African Black Soap Moisturizer
New fave alert! A good moisturizer is hard to find. I'm so in love with this one from Nubian Heritage. This moisturizer is lightweight and makes my skin feel hydrated and moisturized. Unlike some acne moisturizers, it didn't leave my skin feeling greasy.
African Black Soap Targeted Exfoliant Spot Treatment
I've tried numerous acne spot treatments over the past year. I suffer from cystic acne and at times I have difficulty finding spot treatments that will make stubborn pimples go down. Nubian Heritage's spot treatment has worked really well for me. I typically apply it to the affected spot or area before bed and I notice a significant difference the next morning. It doesn't sting or irritate my skin.
If you're looking for acne products that are cruelty free, with ethically traded ingredients then give these products a try. You can find them at your local Whole Foods Market or Sprouts. I'm excited to see how my skin improves over the next few months and I'm looking forward to trying more of their products. Have you ever used products from Nubian Heritage?
