An Amazing Stay and Custom Breakfast at Tru By Hilton
If you’ve been reading my blog and following me on Instagram, then you know I love to travel. One of my favorite things about traveling is staying at hotels. Trust me, I have no qualms against my home or my incredibly comfortable memory foam mattress but I love finding unique and affordable hotels to explore during my travels.
After a few weeks of jet-setting to some U.S. cities, I was extremely excited to have a staycation at the Tru by Hilton in Garland, Texas. If you haven’t heard of this vibrant, affordable, and unique hotel chain then you should totally add it to your hotel bucket list.
The Fun Stuff
Colorful, efficient, and modern are just a few words that come to mind when describing Tru by Hilton. As soon as I walked into the hotel’s lobby I was taken aback. It was bright, fun and incredibly functional. I loved that there were plenty of areas to work, socialize, relax, or even play a game of pool. Free coffee is available 24/7 along with Stash tea, hot chocolate and a variety of flavored syrups. Plus, each Tru by Hilton has a modern fitness center and is extremely tech-focused. You’ll find lots of power outlets located in the lobby and also in your room.
Awesome Accommodations
Hold the carpet please. That’s right; there was no carpet in my hotel room! How cool is that?! I know that probably sounds like no big deal, but I loved that my room had amazing hardwood-like flooring and no carpet. I have horrible seasonal allergies, so this is something that I always take notice of when I travel. My king-bed room was huge, colorful, and had tons of hooks, power outlets, and storage space. It even had a mini-fridge where I could store some of my snacks and drinks!
Tru Top It Breakfast Bar
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and Tru by Hilton takes it to the next level! The free Tru Top It Breakfast Bar is a game-changer and was my favorite part of my stay. It features over 35 toppings that you can use to build-your-own-breakfast masterpiece. You can find Kellogg’s cereals like Raisin Bran, Froot Loops, and Special K -- plus there are lots of additional breakfast base options like:
Waffles
Eggs
Sausage
Donuts
Bagels
Oatmeal
Yogurt
English Muffins
There were so many options to choose from that I had a hard time deciding what type of breakfast masterpiece to create! After getting inspired by all of the options I created Shasha’s Strawberry Waffle Boat! Check out the video below to watch me create the best breakfast waffle boat ever!
Shasha’s Strawberry Waffle Boat, features waffles as my base, hot syrup, whipped cream, strawberries, and is topped with Kellogg’s Froot Loops! I love the sweetness from the whipped cream and syrup. Kellogg’s Froot Loops were a great topping choice and added the perfect amount of crunch to my waffle boat. My custom-made breakfast was fun to make and tasted delicious! I love how the breakfast bar allows you to create something delicious and unique to your personal taste.
Between the incredible colorful design, custom breakfast, and tech-focused compliments, Tru by Hilton is a winner in my book. I’m looking forward to creating another breakfast masterpiece during my next stay. The real question is should I use waffles or bagels as my base?
Have you stayed at a Tru by Hilton property? If not, what breakfast creation will you make?
