Am I the only one that gets a little anxious about eating at airports? I have a very sensitive stomach and slight anxiety when it comes to flying. Therefore, I tend to be very calculated when it comes to dining choices while flying.

Last month, I needed to grab a bite to eat before my return trip home from Cancun, Mexico. My husband and I had a few hours before our outgoing flight and found many options in the Cancun International Airport.

There have been some additions to the airport since my last visit in 2014. I was quite pleased with the addition of new restaurants. However, one restaurant stood out to me. Guy Fieri's American Kitchen and Bar. I am a huge fan of Guy Fieri. During my last Carnival cruise I fell in love with Guy's Burger Joint. I literally ate a burger from his restaurant on every day of my cruise. When the opportunity presented itself to chomp on another Guy's burger I couldn't resist.

Speed of Service

We were immediately seated when we entered the restaurant and our server was gracious. After ordering, we received our meals in about 10 minutes. I tend to be very concerned about about service times in airports but Guy's was fast and efficient. I had plenty of time to spare after finishing my meal.

The Ringer

There were many options on Guy's Menu, but I already knew that I wanted a burger. I opted for The Ringer which was also my favorite burger aboard the Carnival Breeze. My husband was in a creative mood and chose the Mac and Cheese burger. My burger was delicious and tasted exactly how I remembered it, although the patty was slightly bigger. Overall, I was very pleased. My husband enjoyed the Mac and Cheese burger and had no complaints.

Pricing

Our meal of two burgers with fries and two bottled waters cost $43. It was definitely pricey especially in comparison to what we would pay in the states for a similar meal. However, keep in mind that many of the dining options in the Cancun airport will be more expensive than usual. I definitely wouldn't let the price stop me from visiting this restaurant again. They also accept pesos and other currencies in case you don't have US dollars on you.

Guy Fieri's American Kitchen & Bar is a great restaurant to pick if you're ever in the Cancun airport. Between the ambiance, quick service, and tasty food I had a very pleasant dining experience.
