A Los Cabos, Mexico Luxury Vacation at the Hilton Los Cabos
/Isn’t it amazing how much time flies when you’re on vacation? I felt like time flew from the moment we arrived at the Hilton Los Cabos. After months of looking forward to this trip, my husband and I were devastated when we learned that Tropical Storm Lidia had hit the area. We had originally planned our vacation for Labor Day Weekend, but decided to reschedule.
The night before our trip, I received an email informing us that our flight had been cancelled. We started to feel like our trip wasn’t going to happen. Thankfully, I was able to find some last minute seats and the next day we were on our way!
Location
Hilton Los Cabos is about a 20 minute ride from the Los Cabos International Airport. Private transfers are around $120 round trip so we selected a shared transfer from Cora Transfers which cost us $68 round trip. A representative was waiting outside the airport holding a sign with my name on it. We waited about 15 minutes to fill up the van and only made one stop before we arrived at the Hilton.
Accomodations
Once we arrived at the Hilton we were greeted with a cold towel and a welcome drink. The lemonade was so refreshing! We were given our room keys and went off to explore the property. The grounds are absolutely stunning.
We stayed in a king ocean view room on the 3rd floor. The view was amazing and the room had a great central location to all the pools, restaurants, and amenities. There were two chairs on the balcony, and I loved the Peter Thomas Roth toiletries. We were also provided with two bottles of complimentary water each day.
Swimming Pools
The infinity pool is a shining star. Since we visited during low season, we had no issue finding prime seating at any of the pools. There’s another large pool located near Mio that we enjoyed using.
Service staff constantly walked around to take our orders, and they even have a special sunglasses cleaning service! Special thanks to Jorge who offered to clean my sunglasses!
If you’re hungry at the pool you can place an order at your lounge chair or swim over to Madero. They also serve freshly baked brick oven pizzas that I heard many guests rave about. Mio is another great snack and juice bar that I loved hanging out at in the afternoons.
Vista Club Members are granted access to prime poolside seating that comes with daily head and neck massages, free chips, and guacamole. Cabana rentals are also available for an additional fee. Since loungers were plentiful, I was fine without having Vista Club seating.
Dining
The hotel has a few restaurants on site. Our package included daily buffet breakfast at El Meson which I absolutely loved. There were tons of options including fresh fruit, smoothies, juices, omelettes, waffles, and so much more. Make sure you order a glass of watermelon juice and a mango mint smoothie! At night, El Meson serves traditional Mexican cuisine.
Vela- I really enjoyed dining at this restaurant. At night the lights are dimmed and the tables extend out to the pool area. We opted to share the half roasted chicken since the portion was fairly large. Our meal and the service was amazing. Special thanks to Pablo who took great care of us.
Azul- This was a great spot to hang out, have a beer, and watch some football. If you’re looking for a relaxing place to watch sports, then Azul is for you.
Mio- This snack and juice bar is so cute!
Keep in mind that all restaurants aren’t open every night so plan accordingly.
Eforea Spa
The hubby and I had a relaxing 50 minute couples massage at Eforea Spa. Trust me, this spa lives up to its name. Ana, my therapist was super sweet and her hands were angelic! After our spa treatment, we were taken to a private couples lounge and served fresh fruit juice and fruit. Next, I was escorted to the women’s locker area and was able to use the steam room, shower, and jacuzzi.
I loved how intimate the spa is, and I had the entire area to myself. The environment is so peaceful and serene.
Kids Club
There's no need to worry if you're traveling with kids. The property is extremely family friendly and there's an on-site kids club.
Fitness Center
The fitness center is well-appointed and is perfect for getting a quick workout in.
Important Things to Know:
- The hotel is within Los Cabos and is about a 20 minute ride from the airport. Keep in mind that taxi fares in the area expensive. A ride to the marina in Cabo costs $30 USD one way. The hotel has ample taxis available and there was no wait time.
- On-site rental cars are available if you’d like to rent a car for a day. Just ask the concierge.
- The beach is swimmable! The Hilton is located on an area of swimmable beach so take a dip in the ocean (weather permitting)
- The property isn't all-inclusive. A small bottle of water at the pool cost me $5 USD. We were also assessed a 15% service fee for breakfast at El Meson, and for room service. However, all of our meal portions were extremely plentiful. If you want to save money on dining and explore visit El Merkado, which is a $15 USD one way cab ride from the hotel.
The Hilton Los Cabos is a solid non-inclusive pick in the Los Cabos area. I had such a fun yet relaxing stay. The grounds are lush, tropical, and the service staff is incredible. Have you stayed at a Hilton property?
