Before getting to deep into my third trimester, the hubster and I thought it would be nice to take one last trip together before Skyy’s arrival. If you’re looking for a relaxing, beautiful, resort within the state of Texas then this post is for you!
I love a great staycation! Long gone are the days, where a weekend getaway consists of packing up the car, driving for hours, or hopping on a flight. I’ve been wanting to do a staycation for the longest, and I’m so happy that I was able to do one right in Frisco. Have you ever experienced a staycation in Frisco, Texas? There are so many fun things to do, great places to eat, and wonderful places to stay.
"When you get into a hotel room, you lock the door, and you know there is a secrecy, there is a luxury, there is fantasy. There is comfort. There is reassurance." It sounds to me like Diane von Furstenberg was talking about the Royal Sonesta Houston Galleria. I had so much fun spending the weekend at this hotel while co-hosting Comp Camp with my buddy Ginger.
Nothing makes me happier than being able to knock a restaurant off of my foodie bucket list, especially when the restaurant is in another city. As soon as plans for Comp Camp Houston were finalized, I knew that there was no way I could leave without making a visit to Peli Peli Kitchen or Peli Peli.
I love visiting San Antonio. Aside from sightseeing and enjoying the Riverwalk, I love the variety of great restaurants the city offers. Before heading off for a visit, a friend recommended that I try Boudro's Texas Bistro. My hubby and I visited for an afternoon lunch.
I love visiting Austin, Texas. There's so much to see and do between the incredible culinary, nature, and music scene. There are plenty of hotels to choose in the Downtown corridor. During my recent visit, I wanted to have a tranquil, yet fun stay that wasn't too far from the action in Austin.
During my weekend trip to Austin, I wanted to take a stab at exploring the Austin food truck scene. Instead of relying on recommendations, I took matters into my own hands and booked the Best of Austin Food Trucks Tour with Austin Eats Food Tours. The tour promised to take us around to some of Austin's best food truck stops while riding around in an executive bus. I had never been on a food tour, so I was extremely intrigued with the concept.
I love visiting museums. I've been to quite a few during my travels over the past year. I decided to keep things local this time around and headed over to the Modern Art Museum in Fort Worth Texas. The museum is currently running an exhibit featuring Brooklyn based artist KAWS.
Ain't no party like a Diner en Blanc party. I love looking back on experiences that I've had that feel magical. Diner en Blanc Dallas was one of them. Diner en Blanc is a pop-up picnic dinner that originated in France. The event is now held internationally in a multitude of cities. This year's event in Dallas was held at Dallas City Hall.
So, the hubster and I did a really big thing. We packed up our car and took our first family road trip to San Antonio, Texas. Although we’ve visited San Antonio before, this trip was different. On past trips, I’ve only had the opportunity to see San Antonio through the River Walk. However, on this trip we explored so much of the area. Keep on scrolling down to see all my recommendations for the ultimate weekend in San Antonio!
