I get it. You’re probably taken aback by the title of this post, and you probably never thought of Oklahoma City as being the perfect place for a romantic weekend. This blog post is going to totally change your mind.

Our visit to Turner Falls was completely random. We kept seeing signs for it as we drove down Interstate 35 and decided to embark on a quick adventure. Turner Falls is only 2 hours away from Dallas and about an hour away from Oklahoma City. It was the perfect pitstop on our way back home. 

Oklahoma City probably isn't the first city that comes to mind when you think of seafood. The Drake has completely changed my perception. 

There are many things I love in life, and brunch is one of them. I love eating brunch on the weekends but especially when I travel. During my stay at the 21C Museum Hotel in OKC, I visited Mary Eddy's Kitchen + Lounge before heading back home. Even if you aren't staying at the hotel, this restaurant is a must-visit for so many reasons. The number one reason why is in this picture below.

What happens when you combine a modern art museum with a historic Ford Motor company assembly plant, 25 iconic purple penguins, 135 hotels rooms and a contemporary restaurant with best fried banana biscuits in history? You get the 21C Museum Hotel in Oklahoma City. 

I love a great Southern meal. During my visit to Oklahoma City, I heard about Cheever's Cafe. Cheever's is well-known for their sophisticated Southern favorites and their popular Chicken Fried Steak. My husband and I chose to visit the restaurant for a late Saturday afternoon brunch.

Over the weekend, my hubby and I headed up to Oklahoma City to check out the local food scene. Before I head out on trips, I do research to see what the popular dining spots are. When I found out that Waffle Champion was known for their waffle sandwiches, I knew I had to visit. Seriously, take a second to wrap your brain around the concept of a waffle sandwich. It's mind boggling! Waffle Champion is the undisputed waffle champ of OKC. There's usually a line but the wait is well worth it.
