Brunchin in OKC: Mary Eddy's Kitchen + Lounge
/There are many things I love in life and brunch is one of them. During my stay at the 21c Museum Hotel in Oklahoma City, I visited Mary Eddy's Kitchen + Lounge before heading back home. Even if you aren't staying at the hotel, this restaurant is a must-visit for so many reasons. The number one reason why is in this picture below.
Fried. Banana. Biscuits. These biscuits changed my life. I truly understand why this is one of the most popular appetizers on the menu. I don't use the term life changing often, but these biscuits are the most incredible biscuits I've ever ate. I could not stop eating them. I thought about asking my waitress for a second order, but I chickened out.
These are not your typical biscuits. The consistency is similar to a funnel cake and a hush puppy put together. Plus the dipping sauce is out of this world. Dear Mary Eddy's if you're reading this post, is there anyway that you can ship me some of these biscuits?
Now, that I'm done drooling I'll move on to the next dish...Italian Sausage Meatballs.
These were outstanding! Savory, flavorful, and filling plus the tomato sauce was incredible. I struggled to finish them since I quickly found myself getting full after my binge on fried banana biscuits.
I love Country Fried Steak and Waffles so I couldn't resist ordering this dish. The combination was awesome. I'm extremely picky when it comes to waffles and these passed the test with flying colors. I'm not a fan of sunny-side up eggs so I chose to have mine scrambled.
I kept the whole steak vibe going with the Steak and Eggs. The steak was tender, juicy, and cooked perfectly. I also loved the crispy potatoes.
If I had to pick a favorite from my brunch I have to pick this Hash. It features pork shoulder, crispy potatoes, cilantro verde, lime aioli, sunny eggs (I had mine scrambled) and chicharrones. A stare down ensued when my husband and I tried to figure out who would get the last bite. The pork shoulder was impeccable and I loved the chicharrones sprinkled on top. This is another must-order from Mary Eddy's menu.
Mary Eddy's also has a full-bar and an abundance of cocktails. I ordered a Boozy Blossom, prosecco, hibiscus, orange blossom, and OJ. It was the perfect accompaniment to my meal.
Mary Eddy's is a fantastic choice for brunch in Oklahoma City. The restaurant is gorgeous and exudes the hotel's quirky artistic vibe. Wanna see more of what's on the menu? Go here.
