Where to Stay in Los Cabos, Mexico: Paradisus Los Cabos
/I love staying at all-inclusive properties. All-inclusive resorts provide the luxury of giving you a worry-free vacation. After spending a few nights in Cabo, we decided to end our lovely vacation with a stay at the Paradisus Los Cabos.
Location
Paradisus Los Cabos is located 15 miles away from the Los Cabos International Airport on an area of swimmable beach. After our stay at the Hilton Los Cabos, we walked next door to Paradisus.
Check In
As soon as the bellman spotted us with our luggage, they ran over to assist us. Instead of checking in at the main lobby area we were escorted over to the Avenue Bar and ordered drinks while we waited.
Royal Service
As Royal Service guests, we received private check-in at the Royal Service lounge. I loved how we were able to sit down and relax while we checked into our room. Royal Service guests also receive the following perks:
- Accomodations is the adults-only Royal Service building
- Exclusive access to the Royal Service private lounge and La Palapa restaurant
- Butler service
- VIP adults-only experience
- Private Royal Service Pool
I really enjoyed staying in the adults-only Royal Service building as it had a central location to other buildings and amenities on the property. I'd love to stay in one of these swim-up suites for my next visit.
Royal Service Lounge
This lounge is spectacular. There are plenty of areas to relax and also two Mac computers available if you'd like to do some work or surf the internet.
The Royal Service lounge also has a private bar. If you'd like a private dining experience, you're welcome to order food and enjoy a meal at the lounge. The space is very accomodating and comfortable.
Restaurants
The resort has seven on-site restaurants offering all-day dining. Since our stay was short, I made it a point to try to visit each open restaurant even if it was for a small bite. The service at each restaurant was fantastic and I highly recommend the Sea bass fish tacos at Gabi Beach. Gabi Beach also functions as an entertainment venue.
Bana, is the resort's contemporary Asian restaurant. We ordered appetizers and then enjoyed the 8:30 pm Hibachi seating. By the end of our meal we were stuffed. The hibachi dinner includes your choice of protein, fried rice, Miso soup, sushi, and spring roll. The restaurant also has a separate menu if you prefer to skip the hibachi.
Market Grill
The menu includes a mix of Italian cuisine, fresh salads, and an Argentinian steak grill.
Mole- was closed during the night of our stay but serves Mexican favorites.
La Palapa
I dined at La Palapa for a late afternoon meal. La Palapa is exclusive to Royal Service guests. The service was fast and my meal was plentiful.
Gastro Bar by Martin Berasategui. This restaurant is breathtaking. The atmosphere is glamorous and perfect for a romantic dinner. Reservations are required.
Naos is home to an international breakfast buffet that we thoroughly enjoyed. Breakfast is served from 6am to 11 am and there were lots of options.
Gabi Beach
We enjoyed a delightful lunch at Gabi Beach while we waited for our room. I highly recommend the Baja sea bass fish tacos.
The atmosphere at Gabi Beach is contemporary, sheek, and provides beautifiul views of the beach and ocean.
Accomodations
We stayed in a Ocean View junior suite in the Royal Service building. The room was well-appointed and I love the cream and gold color scheme. The bed was extremely comfortable and there were double rainfall shower heads in the shower!
The room was slightly smaller than rooms I've stayed in at other all-inclusives but we had no problems with the size. Each guest room includes the following:
- Fully stocked mini bar
- laptop size safe
- 50' flat screen TV
- Balcony or terrace
- Swim-up suites provide access to 3 new pools
Each day the staff refills the items in your mini bar at no cost! If there's an item that you'd like to have more of you can feel free to request it.
The beach bag located in the room's closet was a nice touch, and I frequently used it whenever I went to the beach and pool.
Room Service
My favorite thing about our room was the room service menu! I've stayed at all-inclusive properties before but this was the largest room service menu I've ever seen. There were many selections available ranging from breakfast items, salmon, pasta dishes, sandwiches, and so much more. The resort also has a separate late night menu if you find yourself hungry in the middle of the night. Our items were always delivered quickly and our food was piping hot.
Swimming Pools and Activities
The resort has 4 swimming pools and the main swimming pool is enormous!
There were plenty of chairs and cabanas located around the pool. The resort doesn't charge a fee for cabanas which is a great contrast from other resorts. I spent an entire afternoon floating around the pool, relaxing in my chair, and ordering drinks from the swim-up bar.
The resort hosts many activities throughout the day for guests of all ages. You can easily access the activities schedule by downloading the Melia app. I loved how there were always tons of fun activities like pool volleyball, Zumba, basketball, and more that you could participate in. You can also view the activities schedule from the TV in your room or ask one of the activities staff members at the pool hut.
Bars
Did I mention that the resort has seven bars including swim-up bars and a beach bar? No matter where you are on the property, there's always a spot where you can grab a quick drink.
Entertainment
The resort has a great entertainment schedule that appeals to adults and kids. The belly dancing show was fantastic.
You can check the entertainment schedule to see what nightly activities are available.
Fitness Center
The resort's fitness center is incredible. As soon as I walked in, I was surprised by the fresh fragrance that exuded through the gym. The scent was amazing! There was an array of cardio and weight equipment available plus plenty of towels and bottled water.
Kids Club
This is definitely the resort to choose if you have children. The kids club is massive!
Additional Things to Keep In Mind
- The resort is large. There are plenty of maps located throughout the property if you're unsure of where to go
- Tip the staff. The service at the resort is fantastic, so feel free to tip the staff for great service
- Reservations are not required at most restaurants. However, the hibachi seating fills up fast so make a reservation if possible
- Resort casual dress is acceptable at most of the resort restaurants except Gastro Bar (formal/elegant)
- Download the Melia app. This app is extremely helpful in finding daily activities and resort information including restaurant hours
Final Thoughts
I can't wait to stay at this property again. If you want a VIP experience book a Royal Service room, but if you feel that you wouldn't get good usage from the lounge or butler service then book a standard suite. All of the room options have great views of the property. This was my first time staying at a Paradisus resort and it won't be my last! Have you ever stayed at a Paradisus resort? If so, what did you think?
